Introduction:
The function of tumor-suppressor genes is to suppress the proliferation of tumors. These genes products usually take part in the cell cycle. They perform the function of checkpoints in the cell cycle and do not allow the replication, cell division of damaged deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) in the cells. Oncogenes are the potential genes that could transform into a cancer-causing gene. The reason lies in the fact because these genes usually concern themselves with the rate of cell growth.
