In Example 5, we analyzed the voting power of the law partners in the firm of Krook, Cheatum, and Associates. Recall that to change a policy required the votes of Krook, Cheatum, and two associates. For each scenario described in Exercises 43-46, do the following:
a. Give an intuitive explanation as to how you think the voting power of Krook, Cheatum, and each associate is changed.
b. Calculate the Banzhaf power index for each member of the firm to see how this calculation corresponds to your intuition.
A law firm. One of the original associates, named Howe, is promoted to senior partner. The firm now has three senior partners and three associates. Assume that two senior partners and two associates must vote to change a policy.
