Summary Introduction

Introduction:

Skeletal muscle is a voluntary striated muscle measuring around 100 m in diameter and 3 cm in length. Due to its length, skeletal muscle cells are commonly called as muscle fibers or myofibers exhibiting alternative light and dark transverse bands, called as striations. It has a few features which makes it distinct from other types of muscles.
