Concept Introduction:
The temperature of a substance at which the vapor pressure of a liquid becomes equal to the atmospheric pressure is called the boiling point of that liquid. At this point, liquid and vapor phases of a substance are in equilibrium. The liquid is converted into vapor beyond this point.
Normal boiling point is defined as the temperature at which the boiling of a liquid occurs at the pressure of one atmosphere.
