Chapter 11, Problem 48P
Summary Introduction

To explain:

How aging of the nervous system begins even before birth?

Introduction:

The nervous system controls the functions of the body and responds to the stimuli. It is composed of the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and the sensory organs. It also maintains the homeostasis of the body by transmission of the electrical signals.

The nervous system has two divisions:central nervous system (CNS) and peripheral nervous system (PNS). The autonomic nervous system is that part of PNS whose functions are independent and continuous without any conscious effort.
