  • It is a main memory or primary storage that is accessible by the components of the Central Processing Unit (CPU) such as Arithmetic and Logic Unit (ALU) and processing unit.
  • It is a volatile memory and it loses the data while power is turned off. Hence, it is known to be a temporary storage.
  • It contains a Read-Only Memory (ROM) and Random Access Memory (RAM).
