(1)
To determine:
For what reason the grown person show negligence to get a booster (themselves) shot for pertussis. Why parents unimmunized their children against pertussis and why vaccination is societal.
Case summary:
Jeeyun lived in California. She continuously develops coughing for two weeks, after she returned from New York (went to visit her grandma). Initially, she developed slight fever, sneezing, and runny nose. Later, she noticed that coughing makes her worse. The worse cough makes her ribs (two) to break and urination involuntarily. Soon, she vomited and fainted on the floor. She admitted in hospital, and she diagnosed the cough as pertussis.
(2)
To determine:
Why parents unimmunized their children against pertussis.
Case summary:
The pertussis is also referred as whooping cough, which is caused by a bacteria Bordetella pertussis. Symptoms include, nausea, vomiting, fever, and even severe cough makes the ribs to break. Pertussis is a childhood disease (even it affects the adult). Children are majorly affected by the pertussis. Therefore, the adult may show negligence to get a booster for pertussis.
(3)

Analysis shows that high levels of the primary transcript that codes for this protein are found in tissue from the brain, muscle, liver, and pancreas. However, an antibody that recognizes the C-terminal portion of the protein indicates that the protein is present in brain, muscle, and liver, but not in the pancreas. What is the most likely explanation for this result?arrow_forwardMolecular Biology Explain/discuss how “slow stop” and “quick/fast stop” mutants wereused to identify different protein involved in DNA replication in E. coli.arrow_forward
- Molecular Biology Question A gene that codes for a protein was removed from a eukaryotic cell and inserted into a prokaryotic cell. Although the gene was successfully transcribed and translated, it produced a different protein than it produced in the eukaryotic cell. What is the most likely explanation?arrow_forwardMolecular Biology LIST three characteristics of origins of replicationarrow_forwardMolecular Biology Question Please help.
