Concept introduction: Nuclear science deals with the interactions of the different types of nucleons present in an atom. This has its implications on various fields like agriculture, industry, nuclear power plants, and medicine. Nuclear power is also used in wars for making weapons that derive the power from the nuclear reactions, like fission and fusion. Radioisotopes are very effective in the diagnosis of diseases especially in the detection of tumors in bone, liver, and heart. Nuclear science is used in agriculture to study the mechanism of nutrient absorption by the plants ad to produce disease resistant plant varieties.
