C. Practical Applications.

For each of the following, set up either a system of equations in two variables or a quadratic equation and solve. (Round to two decimal places if necessary.)

Plumbing Four small drain pipes flow into one large pipe as shown in the figure. Two of the pipes have 1-in. diameters and the other two have $1\frac{1}{2}$-in. diameters. The cross-sectional area of the large main pipe must be at least as large as the sum of the cross-sectional areas of the four smaller ones. What should be the minimum diameter of the large pipe? (Round to the nearest 0.01 in.)
