The muscles of the anterior compartment of the thigh: Sartorius and quadriceps femoris, and the four heads of the quadriceps.
Introduction:
The anterior compartment of thigh contains muscles which helps in extension of knee and flexion of hip. The anterior compartment consists of the sartorius muscle (the longest muscle in the body) and the quadriceps femoris which is a group of muscles consisting of the rectus femoris muscle and the three vasti muscles consisting of the vastus lateralis, vastus intermedius, and the vastus medialis.
