Introduction:
Gas exchange is the major process, which occurs in the respiratory system. This process takes place in the alveoli of the lungs. It is simply the movement of the oxygen into the blood while the carbon dioxide is eliminated from the blood. These two gases move across the membrane called respiratory membrane, which involves alveolus and pulmonary capillaries. Partial pressure refers to the measurement of the amount of the pressure exerted by one substance in the mixture.
