The molecules that experience hydrogen bonding in a pure liquid state are to be identified.
Concept Introduction:
Hydrogen bonding is experienced by the molecules that contain hydrogen atoms attached to a small, high electronegative atom that is, oxygen, nitrogen, or fluorine. As hydrogen is bonded to an electronegative atom, the bond is polar in nature. Hence, hydrogen atom gets partial positive charge which is attracted by an oxygen atom having a partial negative charge.
