Antimicrobial drugs are selectively toxic against microbes, so that it does not cause any harm to humans. To devise an effective treatment for the infectious disease, the determination of antimicrobial agent, which is most effective against a specific pathogen, is necessary. Various tests are there to test the effectiveness of antimicrobials like minimum inhibitory concentration test, diffusion susceptibility tests, and minimum bactericidal test.
