Introduction:

The first event in the contraction of the skeletal muscle is excitation of the muscle fiber by somatic motor neuron. Second physiological event after the muscle fiber excitation is “excitation-contracting coupling”. It is an event that involves T-tubules, sarcolemma and sarcoplasmic reticulum. Third physiologic event in the contraction of the skeletal muscle involves cross-bridge cycling due to binding of the Ca+2 .
