Chapter 10, Problem 1TC
Summary Introduction

To determine:

The expected phenotypic ratio in the F2 generation by a cross between 2 double heterozygotes (CcPp). In case of garden peas, both P and C are needed for production of pigments in the flowers. The gene P codes for an enzymes, which converts the colorless intermediate into anthocyanin or a purple pigment. The gene C codes for an enzyme, which converts a compound into colorless intermediate product. Both the dominant traits, P and C (at least one allele) are required for a purple colored pigment.

Introduction:

A dihybrid cross occurs between 2 traits. A dihybrid cross here, consists of C and P genes. The genes C and P are required for the production of pigmentation in flowers.
