Concept introduction:

The strands of DNA molecule contain the complementary pairs of bases. One nucleotide sequence of one strand automatically provides the details required to form its partner. The adenine is complementary nucleotide for thymine and cytosine is the complementary nucleotide for guanine.

The restriction enzymes are also called as restriction endonucleases. The restriction endonucleases are used for the hydrolysis of the phosphodiester backbone present on the particular DNA sequence.
