Concept introduction: Skunk oil or spray contains two major components 3-methylbutane-1-thiol and but-2-ene-1-thiol. Due to these thiols, skunk oil has a very strong repellent odor. These thiols are oxidized by oxidizing agents like hydrogen peroxide to remove the odor of the skunk spray.
