meaning when alpha is 0° then Vout is 0 Volt and when alpha is 180° then Vout = Vin = 120 Volts.
1.1)You arrive to the theater and turn on the dimmer to alpha = 100% (meaning 180°). Will the system
work properly? Yes/No - Justify your answer with your calculations
1.2)If the system cannot work properly with alpha = 100% = 180°, and you do not have time to make the
pertinent changes, please calculate the maximum alpha you can rise the dimmer before the
breakers stop the lights to work. Assume that the resistances of the lamps are constant and do not
change with the temperature)
