2. Case Study
The pharmaceutical formulation production and marketing sector in India was
chosen as the case study industry for the maximize profit challenge. The majority of the
items are classified as nutritional supplements, cough syrup-expectorant, haematinic
syrup, and other types of medicine. Initially, the company's products were only available

Kerala. Jenburkt Products were supplied through a large network of stockists and super

stockists who delivered the products to thousands of retail pharmacy stores. The Covid-
19 issue, and from the other hand, had compelled the firm to fight the matter on its own.
The corporation was confronted with the highest degree of demand for the medicine.
As a result, the cost of the component must be increased to ensure that the supply
does not run out in the event of an emergency and the production of other types of
medicine. As a result, the company's cost and profit were not balanced enough to cover
the loss.

selected one of the main products of the company which is O. Porosys Powder for the
case study analysis. O. Porosys Powder is a kind of pharmaceutical powder which is
defined as a dry, solid substance, composed of finely divided drugs with or without
excipients and intended for internal or external use. It is a solid substance in finely
divided state typically obtained by crushing, grinding, or comminuting. Therefore, the
packaging of the product is necessary to protect the medicine from damage, germs,
outer atmosphere, and bacteria. Packaging in the pharmaceutical industry varies from
drug to drug and normally there are three levels of packaging commonly referred to as
the primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging. The main type of packaging in our case

can't import the ingredient even with a higher price. Hence the ingredient stock is
limited, then it was bringing big impact to our income and low profit happen while
comparing to the cost of production and operation. The time for producing the medicine
is limited also, it is impossible to immediately manufacture a medicine without going
any pharmaceutical process. So, we need using the limited resources to get the
maximum profit as we can to cover the loss of the company.
2.2 Maximize Profit Problem
Despite the Covid-19 situation and lack of ingredient, it is difficult to produce big
number of products with a low sale price that can provide a high profit to our company
Thus, the lack of the stock and high human resource used was leading the
the company reaching the maximum level, we needed to find out how to . Due to many
predictable factors, the parts that we can control is the sale price of the product. In this
case study, the proposal model was created based on the type of packet, time available
for packing of both of type of packet and total man hours used for packing of type of
medicine to balance profit gain and loss of the company. The main motivation behind
this paper is to find a better methodology to solve the real-life sale marketing problem.
The following section provides the framework of the proposed mathematical model.
