Genetic nursing is the nursing speciality that focuses on providing genetics health care to patient. 

Nurses are  present in all health care setting and care for individuals who may have genetic condition. They also ensure that these individuals have access to the most current genetic information, genetic diagnosis, treatment and management therapeutics. With this knowledge, nurse can collect appropriate family information and support patient, family and community. 

Nurse can offer care to protects patients , families from the risk associated with genetic information. 

Nurses can play role in genetic counseling and in advanced assessment. 

We know that genetic changes contribute to most, if not all disease. Consequently, the scope of genetic knowledge application in nursing is limitless.
