Why do you think "intellect" is difficult to define. Think about how we define intellect, the areas that encompass intelligence, and how psychological tests have been built to assess it. However, these measures were all organized by one distinct part of the population, which was not all-inclusive. Think about the many parameters of it, how SES, culture, gender, age, social constructs, and expedience impact how it's defined.

Expert Solution
Step 1

Intellect is the power of knowledge as opposed to the power of will or feel or sense. Intelligence is different from intellect in the sense that intelligence is the capacity to acquire knowledge and skills while intellect is the aptitude of reasoning and understanding. When an individual thinks with abstractive prowess then they are said to think with intellect. Intellect is not acquired like intelligence. Intellect is very different form of cognitive capability that enables us to think clearly with focus on the object.
