Why did the terror attacks of 9/11 happen? What were the motivations of the attackers? These were the questions on the minds of every American and it was a fundamental debate among the American public in the days following the attack.
The 9/11 attack on the US was a consequential event in the history of the US that had a profound impact on the nation and the world. The attack was carried out by Al-Qaeda, led by Osama Bin Laden, hijacking four commercial airplanes and crashing them into important buildings in the US. Three planes crashed into buildings, two planes into the world trade center and one plane into the Pentagon budling. One plane failed to reach its attack destination when the passengers tried to take back control of the plane from the hijackers by force, and it crashed into a field in Pennsylvania.
