Carbon dioxide gas is the crucial reason for acidification in the ocean. Because of human activities, there is an increase in the atmosphere's carbon dioxide level, which thawed into the sea, where the ocean's average pH is now around 8.1, which is alkaline. Still, if it continues to absorb more carbon dioxide, the Ph diminutions, and the sea becomes more acidic.
The burning of fossil fuels like coal, oil, and gas by the human industry is one of the primary reasons for acidification.
