Who was Hammurabi ?
Mesopotamia literally refers to the ' land between between two rivers ' here these two rivers are Tigris and Euphrates. It is one of the oldest civilization in the world. The Mesopotamian civilization covered present day region of Iran, Iraq, Syria. The ancient cities like Babylon and Sumer flourished around this particular region. The period saw the development of one of the earliest form of writing which is known as the cuneiform script, the evidence of writing have been found at various places.
Mesopotamian civilization had flourishing trade both internally and externally as well, the clay tablet evidences found on Mesopotamian sites has recorded transactions of trade which took place, apart form it the clay tablet also mentions about the names of places, for example name Meluha is often referred to as the land of Indian subcontinent. Various dynasties ruled Mesopotamia for different periods of time.
