Expert Solution
Introduction to friction

Friction is a type of force which opposes motion /movement between any surfaces that are in contact .

There are mainly four types of friction

  1. Static Friction :  this type of friction acts on objects when the objects are resting on a surface.
  2. Sliding friction : occurs when objects are sliding over a surface , its weaker than static friction.
  3. Rolling friction : can be found when objects are rolling over a surface . This type of friction is much weaker than both static and sliding friction.
  4. Fluid friction : it is a type of friction which acts on objects that are moving through a fluid.
