The eye is one of the important sensory organs in the human body. It works all day and gathers tons of information all around the world and transfers it to your brain. It consists of the iris, pupil, cornea, and retina.
Light gets reflected from objects and enters your eye through the pupil where it gets a little bent by the lenses to focus it on the retina which is a screen-type area present behind the eye. It is made up of special cells called photoreceptors which have the ability to detect light and convert it into electrical signals which can be transported to the brain through optic nerves. The brain can interpret those electrical signals and can recognize the inverted image formed on the retina and then we are able to see the image.
There are six extraocular muscles that move the globe (eyeball). These muscles are named the superior rectus, inferior rectus, lateral rectus, medial rectus, superior oblique, and inferior oblique.
