Social stratification exists in all societies in some form or other, however, in the US, racial and class-based stratification is more prominent. Since the US has around 13.7% of its population inhabited by immigrants, hence race-based discrimination towards Blacks, Asians, and Hispanics is comparatively high. The term racial hierarchy is defined as a belief that some dominant racial groups think themselves superior to others. It is an internal belief that even took place prominently during Hitler's times towards the Jews, and in recent context, it exists widely.
