Which of the following phrases describes what we see in the following error plot? (Residual is another word for error.)
Residual plot:
Residual plot is a graph used to identify the lineariaty, heterosedacity and fit of line. Residual plot will have residual values on verticle axis and independen variables on horizontal axis. Residual value is a difference between observed values and predicted values. When the points is randomly dispersed around the horizontal axis then linear regression model is appropriate. Otherwise non linear model is preferred. When the rediual value gets larger when prediction moves from small to large or large to small there exhibits the heterosedacity of data.
