Thomas Paine:
He was a political activist, philosopher, theorist, and revolutionary. He wrote two essential works that started the American Revolution, The Common Sence and the American Crisis. His ideas show the Enlightenment-era ideals of transnational human rights and inspired people to declare independence from Great Britain. He went to jail due to his extremist work and when died his funeral was attended by only 6 people because of his against views about Christianity.
