Expert Solution
Introduction

Cold War was a period of geopolitical tension between the countries USA and the USSR after the end of World War II and it ended with the disintegration of the USSR. It was called a cold war because no side of the war declared an actual confrontation or war with either of the sides. They did not declare direct war against each other. Historians have highlighted a number of factors that contributed to the onset of the Cold War, including tensions between the two countries following World War II, the ideological dispute between the US and the Soviet Union, the development of nuclear weapons, and American dread of communism.
