Guyuk was the grandson of the Great Mongol Emperor, Ghengis Khan. He was the third Khagan-Emperor of the Mongol Empire and reigned from 1246 to 1248. Guyuk had served as a military officer under Ghengis Khan after receiving training from him and had also served under Odegei Khan after Ghenghis Khan died in 1227.
