What was China’s overall impact on the two countries during this early period, and how did Korea and Japan relate to each other?
During the tang dynasty, china’s Influence on Korea and Japan touched its height. Korea adopted new philosophies from China, first Buddhism and then Confucianism. Korea embraced Chinese philosophies thus, achieved its independence. The Japanese were keen to adopt the practice of Buddhism, however they added more native elements to the practice. Korea and Japan were both influenced but the architecture, art, language, and legislature.
