Question

Formula attachemnt-- You can use this spreadsheet as a resource to complete it. There are two tabs on the spreadsheet. The first tab says "Data and Questions." If you would like, you can enter in the data provided on the Week 3 Practice Activity in column A of this tab (in the 50 highlighted cells). You will see that column D has some formulas for the different summary statistics I would like you to calculate (besides variance and standard deviation). Once you enter the data set in column A, you will see the values for the summary statistics populate in column D. The second tab, titled "Table for Variance and Std. Deviation" has formulas to help you calculate variance and standard deviation (scroll down). Again, you will need to enter the 50 values from the data set in the 50 highlighted cells in column B. In both tabs, only enter the data set in the highlighted cells. Do not change any other values (otherwise the calculations may be incorrect).

Though I would like you to show your work/thought process for each question on the practice activity itself, you can use the Excel formulas to double check that your "by hand" calculations are correct and/or to help you calculate the final values after you have shown your work/thought process. I think this will be particularly helpful for the questions that ask about variance and standard deviation\

Week 3 Practice Activity

Use the data in the box below for questions 1-12. Do not delete the prompts. Show all your work and provide your answer clearly under each question. If you would rather write your response by-hand, you can add space under each question, print out this document, complete your work, and scan it back to your computer. You may work on this Practice Activity independently or in groups (you can use the Student Lounge to coordinate with other students). However, each student should submit their own Practice Activity to the Dropbox by 11:55 p.m. CST.
