Syphilis is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) that is usually defined as the way they are caused by the bacteria Treponema pallidum. The first sign of syphilis is the appearance of a small, painless sore on the sexual organs, inside the mouth, or on the rectum. Many people fail to recognize these symptoms right away.

Syphilis lesions appear in the primary stage as firm, small, round sores called chancres or ulcers. It is not painful, but it is extremely contagious. This sore may appear on other parts of your body, such as the inside of your mouth, your genitals, or your rectum. Sore throat, skin rashes, swollen lymph nodes, fever, weight loss, and aching joints are symptoms of disease progression into the second stage. The rash does not itch and usually appears on the palms and soles of the feet.
Furthermore, if the disease has advanced to the tertiary stage. Clinical symptoms include nervous system problems, deafness, memory loss, and soft tissue destruction. Stroke, meningitis, heart disease, and neurosyphilis are some of the neurological disorders associated with the disease.
