DMAIC is an abbreviation for Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control. DMAIC is a process development approach of Six Sigma that is used for improving existing procedures. DMAIC is a data-driven quality strategy used for improving a procedure. It is a core tool used to drive six sigma projects, it is not only selected to six sigma but can be used as a structure for improving the application.

DEFINE- This stage is all about the chances for improvement, and outlining the scope of the project

  • Identifying Partners and agree on the parameters of the project, create a team
  • Identifying the business process

MEASURE- This phase is all about collecting data for the evaluation of the existing process.

  • Creating a thorough map of all the project to recognize input, processes, and output measures

ANALYZE- The goal of this stage is to examine the main reason for business issues.

  • Data analysis certifies that the improvement is focused on causes, rather than symptoms
  • Implementing process control analysis root cause can be verified
  • By developing an improvement plan can provide the most effective results

IMPROVE- This stage is used to determine the steps that will be taken to scale the changes from the analysis process.

  • Evaluate solution ideas, process maps, and plans
  • Explain a solution plan and later communicate solutions to all partners

CONTROL- This is the last stage of the process whose main goal is to develop the process of the project to ensure long-term success.
