B Cell Selection:
B Cells are the immunogenic cells, which are a type of lymphocytes or white blood cells, responsible for humoral immune response of the system. These are, however, originated from the same hematopoitic stem cell, and later develop into naive B cells from the same lymphoid progenitor cell, but unlike T Cells or NK cells, the express B Cell Receptor or BCR on their surface. It is during this developmental phase the T Cell and B Cell both undergo positive and negative selection in the primary lymphoid organ. As we know, VDJ recombinant gene plays a vital role here in the development of pro B cells into pre Cells which then develop into naive B cells, undergoing VDJ recombination process. Once this happens, this cell development is followed by selection which is of two types:
- Positive Selection
- Negative Selection
