Mood is considered to be generalized , and are a mix of feelings and emotions. They are heavily influenced by environment , physiological and mental state. It can last from minutes to even hours and days . Some common example of moods are : bad , sad , gloomy.
Emotions are stirred up or excited state , which is characterized by a subjective feeling , along with physiological arousal and a pattern of overt expressions. Emotions can be positive ( joy and love) or negative (disgust and fear) , primary or mixed. Moods are different from emotions as they aren't caused by specific events , whereas emotions are caused by specific events.
