DNA is the basic genetic material found in most of the species. DNA stands for Deoxyribose Nucleic Acid. DNA is usually found in double stranded form where the two strands of DNA with opposite polarity is bonded by the Hydrogen bonds present between the nucleotides of two strands.

DNA has the following components:

  • Deoxyribose Sugars
  • Phosphate group attached to 5th Carbon of deoxyribose
  • Nitrogenous bases- A, T, G, C
