Social Class Overview

Social Class are hierarchical classifications that are based on income and wealth. The most commonly known class groups are the following: 

Capitalist class: This the highest in the class hierarchy and comprises of the the business owners, and individuals with a lot of wealth to their name own properties and belong to political class that rules the country.

Upper middle class: This class consists of individuals who are well educated and serve roles as senior level managers of industries and professionals such as doctors, lawyers, accountants etc., and have a high income earning capacity.

Middle class: The middle class comprises of the clerical workers who have white collar jobs but at lower grades. Individuals working as low level management positions. Like teachers and insurance agents etc. They also include highly skilled workers like electricians, nurses, plumbers. They receive lesser income than that of the upper middle class.

Working class: The working class includes individuals who skilled in their jobs but are not specialized and earn substantially less.

Working poor class: are low skilled and with no job security like construction workers, janitors and maids and live from one salary to the next.

Underclass: This group are dependent on some government programs and services and public assistance.
