what are the different type of heart block and explanation
The heart is made up of cardiac muscle tissue that is responsible to perform coordinated contractions that make it capable to pump the blood throughout the body organs and tissues. These cardiac muscle tissues comprise- Intercalated discs (these can be described as small connections that join cardiomyocytes to each other), Gap junctions (these help in the transmission of contraction signal between 2 cardiomyocytes. So, when on cardiomyocyte is contracted the signal is transferred to the adjacent cardiomyocyte via gap junctions), Desmosomes (they hold the cardiomyocytes together during a contraction) and nucleus (cardiomyocytes have typically only one nucleus).
A heart block is also known as an AV block, It occurs when the electrical signal maintaining the normal rhythmic pattern is partially or completely blocked. This makes the heart either skip the beats or beat more slowly. This may cause dizziness, fainting, tiredness, and shortness of breath.
