Question

What are the different methods that are being used in the process of evaporation?
Explain the methods with examples. Please answer at your own easy words.

Expert Solution
Step 1

Technically speaking, evaporation is the process of turning a liquid into a vapour in order to separate it from another liquid with a higher boiling point or from a solid that has been dissolved in it. Water is the liquid that evaporates most frequently.

Methods of Evaporation:

There are some methods that are being used for the evaporation process.

         1. spontaneous airborne evaporation.

This method involves exposing very large liquid surface areas to spontaneous evaporation in the open air, is relatively slow. The amount of time required depends on the air's temperature, humidity, and how thoroughly the vapours are evacuated from the liquid's surface. Water evaporates relatively quickly in hot, dry weather, especially if a strong breeze is blowing.

This method is solely applied to the production of salt from natural brines or seawater. Significant amounts of salt are created in several warm countries in this manner.
