Expert Solution
Step 1

The community that we belong to or the culture that we have been brought up in has a lot of influence on our perspective of the two types of marriages - love or arranged, and the choices that we will make in regards to it. Love marriages are typically understood as marriages that take place when two people who have been in love and have known each other for a while decide to get married. An arranged marriage is a result of a third party matchmaking or through known acquaintances. Couples here may not necessarily have romantic feelings towards each other but still could get married to each other for various reasons. Studying and understanding how societies navigate marriage is important as it helps us understand behaviour - why did they get married, what do people seek in their partners, what were their goals, what made the marriage last and so forth. Not only does it help us understand society but it also helps us understand evolutionary behaviour.
