Expert Solution
Step 1

vector is an organism, that do not cause disease itself but it transmits the infection by pathogens from one host to another.

*Two types of vector are present. They are

  1. Biological vectors
  2. Mechanical vectors

*Microbes usually dont multiply within mechanical vectors . Mechanical vectors transport microbes physically from host to host.

* Incase of Biological vectors, microbes has to propagate within biological vector before biological vectors transmit the microbes.

* Vector transmission uses insects to transport the pathogen.

* fleas and ticks, and mosquitos will not harmed by pathogens, they carry them but can transmit the bacteria when they bite a host.

*Examples are

  1. Mosquito: West Nile Virus
  2. Fleas: Bubonic Plague
