The force that allows the aeroplane to move forward is the thrust force. Thus the thrust force is required to propel the aeroplane at the finite distance at a finite velocity. When aeroplane moves forward, there is a resistance to the motion in the opposite direction of motion called drag force. The vertical downward force is the weight of the aeroplane, and the vertical upward force is the lift force. The aeroplane moves with constant velocity if the drag force is equal to thrust and the lift is equal to the weight of the aeroplane.
