This is the dicussion post I have to contribute to this and agree to this and try to give more information about this issue in 200 words please help me
I believe that there are multiple proper responses when the government fails to live up to the social contract. One of them being for citizens to take action and try and understand different laws surrounding the specific subject they want to discuss with others Whether it be to sign a petition or advocating for others who would actually support change in the government. Another proper response that I believe in is holding a peaceful protest so that you can help inform the people around you about what is going on but in a nice and calm manner. I find that I am stuck in the middle with the question: Can violent/destructive protests be justified? From one side I think that they could have the potential to be justified depending on the matter at hand. On the other hand, I don't think it is right to cause mayhem wherever you are. I understand that being violent/destructive is one bold way to try and get the world to recognize what you are trying to stand up for, but I just think about is it worth it to be destructive when you could try your hardest to advocate for whatever you want by going to peaceful protests and not destroying anything because as I have already stated, doing that causes more destruction than understanding. As I have stated above, I believe that yes and no they could be justified in trying to overthrow the government but I think that if people truly want to try and do this, they need to try different routes first. Trying a peaceful protest at first to get their point across for understanding and people can recognize what they are trying to change. If the government does not respond to their ask for change and help, this is when I think that they should start taking a more serious route into trying to change the government.
