I asked the following question but there are 2 issues that appear to be incorrect.

The question was,

"In a solution of n-pentane each molecule has 5 carbons. In a solution of 1-butanol each molecule  has 4 carbons. Does the difference in the number of carbons make a difference in the strength of the intermolecular forces"

The first I think is incorrect in the explanation -  it says pentane has 2 boiling points (36.1 degrees and 68.7 degrees). I don't understand.

The second I don't understand, also in the explanation, it talks the molecules hexane and ethanol which I didn't ask about, the 2 molecules I was asking about were n-pentane and 1-butanol.

Would you please clarify this.
