State the objective of the experiment and explain briefly what was done to achieve this objective
Description
> Specimens
• Seven simple shapes of different materials (Stainless steel and brass) are provided, and each is fitted
with a thermocouple well at its geometric centre to allow measurement of its core temperature.
During this experiment we're going use the cylindrical shapes only.

Operating Procedure
1. Connect the thermocouples between the unsteady state heat transfer unit and the heat transfer service unit.
2. Turn on the two units along with the water pump and wait until the first thermocouple shows an
approximate value of 85°C.
3. Record the value of the temperature shown by thermocouple nb.2.
4. Insert the 30 mm brass specimen in the carrier; once you plunge it in the bath, start collecting the values
given by the third thermocouple each 5 seconds for 1 min.
05. Repeat the process for the 20 mm brass specimen and the 20 mm stainless steel specimen.
6. Turn off the machine and let it cool down.
