A silicon NPN transistor TIP29 is used in the amplifier circuit
of Fig. 1 with Vcc = 10V, Rc = 42, and Rg = 4702.
The output characteristics for the transistor may be
displayed on a Transistor Curve Tracer. A typical set of
these characteristics is shown in figure 2.
a) Determine the de Q-point.
b) A sinusoidal ac signal is applied to the amplifier. It causes
a 20 mA peak (40 mA peak-to-peak) base current.
Determine the collector current waveshape.
c) Determine the harmonic content and distortion in the
output waveshape.
