When Sonya is introduced, she says "I’m pleased to join the staff of McCue and Associates, and I look forward to working with all of you." At break time, she engages one or two of the new employees in conversation, taking care to call each by name. In the afternoon when her supervisor introduces her to the others in her work group, she makes a conscious effort to remember their names and job responsibilities. If she is unsure of the name, she immediately asks for clarification. "Could you repeat your name again, please?" or "Did I pronounce that correctly?” Whenever possible, she repeats the name out loud: “It was good to meet you, Gianna." At the end of the day, Sonya reviews her list of names and job responsibilities. Where possible, she visualizes a face to go with the name.
