Expert Solution
Step 1

Synthesis reaction : When multiple simple reactants combine to form one single and complex product, then it is called synthesis reaction.

For example -

A + 2B --> AB2

Decomposition : When a single chemical entity breaks down and forms two or more fragments, then it is decomposition reaction.

ABC --> A + 2B + C

Single replacement :  When one element in a compound is replaced by another element, then it is single replacement reaction.

A + BC --> AC + B

Double replacement : When two reactants react and the cations and anions exchange their position to make 2 new products, then it is double replacement reaction.

AB + CD --> AD + CB

Combustion reaction : It is a chemical reaction, where any fuel undergoes oxidation with oxidising agent resulting in heat.

Generally hydrocarbons react with oxygen to give carbondioxide, water and heat.
